Florida Panthers decide they no longer have a use for a player, place him on waivers to terminate his contract
With the NHL Trade Deadline approximately a month away, teams are looking at ways to improve their roster. With that comes managing the number of available roster spots they have to take on contracts. For the Florida Panthers today that meant placing a player on unconditional waivers to terminate his contract.
Today General Manager, Bill Zito, placed Anton Levtchi on unconditional waivers to terminate his contract.
Anton Levtchi (FLA) on unconditional waivers for contract termination.
Levtchi was signed as an undrafted free agent this summer, who the Panthers hoped could fit into their lineup and provide some value depth. Last season in La Liga, Levtchi scored 61 points in 55 games.
This year however, Levtchi hasn't been able to find a role in the Panthers lineup, only having played 2 NHL games. In the AHL Levtchi has had some success with 17 points in 35 games. With the termination of the deal it is expected that Levtchi will return to Finland.
