Former 40 goal scorer waives his no trade clause for 3 teams
The NHL's Trade Deadline is scheduled this year for March 3rd and with that comes the increase in rumors and trade chatter. One of the most interesting teams ahead of the deadline is the St. Louis Blues. The Blues have both Ryan O'Reilly and Vladimir Tarasenko who are set to become unrestricted free agents this summer.
Over the years Tarasenko has asked the Blues for a trade on multiple occasions, now it appears that he'll finally get his wish. According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period , Tarasenko has already waived his no trade clause.
In addition to his belief that Tarasenko intends to hit the free agent market this summer, Pagnotta writes: "During the off-season, he was willing to waive his NTC to the New York Rangers, New York Islanders or New Jersey Devils – if there were other teams in play, I wasn't aware of it."
There has been heavy interest in Tarasenko from the New York Islanders, but it appears that he has his sights set on the New York area. If none of these teams come calling, it's possible Tarasenko will expand his list to include other playoff teams.
