Jack Campbell can't seem to get people talking about him in a positive manner. With a lucrative contract signed in the off-season, expectations are high for the Edmonton Oilers goalie.
Former NHL goalie Mike McKenna shared on the Daily Faceoff Podcast that Jack Campbell needs to go back to the basics of goaltending. This is definitely a huge remark as he goes to explain that his initial positioning is not setting him up properly between the pipes, which is then resulting in having to work twice as hard to simply move and control rebounds.
It will be interesting to see how Campbell bounces back or if he keeps disappointing with his poor play quality. The Oilers are in desperate need of Campbell to turn things around. After handing him $25,000,000 over 5 years they can't afford the cash or cap space for his sub .900 goaltending to continue.
