Former top 10 draft pick is on the trade block
The Detroit Red Wings were basement dwellers for the better part of the entire 2021-22 National Hockey League season. However, that's not to say they don't have some good, young key pieces that could either fetch a kings ransom in trade, or use as building blocks for the future.
According to Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli, Detroit could be looking to move on from talented young forward Filip Zadina. Seravalli does note Steve Yzerman might not shop him as aggressively to see if he fits in with the new bench boss in Detroit.
Zadina, 22 has struggled on parts of 4 seasons with the Wings, so maybe a change of scenery would be good for the young forward. In 74 games this past season he scored 10 goals and 14 assists for 24 points. In his career he has 61 points in 160 games played including 25 goals and 36 assists.
It seems Detroit is ready to give up on a once highly touted blue-chip prospect within the organization, the question is, should they?
