Nathan MacKinnon gives a snarky reply who asks a question about his 'legacy'
The Colorado Avalanche and the 2-time defending Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning are about to embark on the final leg on one of sports longest roads, the road to the Stanley cup. Game one is set to go tomorrow at 8PM eastern time, and from the sounds of it, Avalanche star Nathan MacKinnon is just trying to have fun and enjoy the ride.
According to George Stoia, journalist for the Denver Gazette, Nate Mack isn't worried about much heading into the final, much less his legacy, when asked about it, he had this to say:
Legacy? For who? You guys? I'm not worried about that. I'm just having fun.
MacKinnon has been one of the most productive forwards in the league for the past few years, and is still relatively young at the age of 26. It makes sense he wouldn't be too concerned about nix legacy at this moment, as he seemingly just entered the prime of his NHL career, coming off a very productive regular season which saw him finish with 88 points in just 65 games played including 32 goals and 56 assists.
However, one has to question wether winning a Stanley Cup will make or break a probable future hall of famer's career, especially so early on into it.
I would say whether he wins the cup this year or not isn't a career defining moment yet, but if he never gets back to the finals, it could be.
