The Chicago Blackhawks scandal surrounding the sexual assault of Kyle beach and subsequent coverup by the organization took the hockey world by storm last October. Now, the disgraced former Blackhawks head coach is looking to get back into the league after less than a year out of it.
According to ESPN, former Blackhawks and Florida Panthers bench boss, Joel Quenneville is looking to apply for re-instatement as he has a desire to coach again. Although, it's unlikely it happens this summer
There are a couple of things here: 1) if Gary Bettman accepts Quenneville's application for reinstatement soon, does the penalty mean anything and 2) the team that wants to give Quenneville a shot behind the bench again are ill-informed and obviously don't care about the systemic change that needs to take place in the game of hockey.
Rumours are that Gary Bettman is unwilling to approve a return for Quenneville as he gave the following quote this week.
He has indicated that he would, at the appropriate time, like to be part of the game again. I don't think this is the time. But we'll see what happens in the future.
