Playing in the National Hockey League is a gift for as long as you get to do it. Not only are you making millions of dollars, you're playing your favourite sport while travelling with teammates that become family. You're also putting your body on the line night in and night out, more often than not that comes with injuries. Sometimes those injuries cut a career short. As is the case with Seattle Kraken forward Joonas Donskoi
According to Puck Report on Instagram Donskoi has retired from the NHL due to concussion issues, something that caused him to miss the entire 2022-23 season.
Donskoi, 31, played in the NHL for 7 seasons for 3 teams, the San Jose Sharks, Colorado Avalanche and Seattle Kraken. He skated in 474 game scoring 80 goals and adding 128 assists for 208 total points.
This is the unfortunate part of the game sometimes, you never know when your time is going to come. All the best in retirement Joonas.
