Elliotte Friedman is viewed as the gold standard when it comes to National Hockey League Insiders. Friedman is often one of the first to report on any major story and because of that he's developed a lot of reliable sources and garnered a lot of respect around the league. Unfortunately for teams, sometimes that information comes from well placed sources within the organization.

Last week the Ottawa Senators fired their AHL Head Coach for leaking important information to other teams, but now it appears another Canadian team may have a "leaker" within their organization. During the 32 Thoughts Podcast, Friedman shared that the Vancouver Canucks now feel that they have a potential leaker within the organization.

Elliotte mentioned Canucks are trying to figure out how things are leaking to the media. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

(More in general. Not Rutherford related)

Over the last few months, multiple stories have leaked out of Vancouver. It began with the inevitable Bruce Boudreau firing, followed by the Bo Horvat discourse and Thatcher Demko being unhappy, last but not least news began to leak that President Jim Rutherford is no longer happy with the organization and could be looking to leave the team.

After Bruce Boudreau's termination, the Canucks made it clear that they felt the media was responsible for Boudreau's treatment. The team felt that if the media hadn't reported on the Boudreau situation that the team wouldn't have experienced any issues. It's clear that the Canucks certainly have a leak, but focusing on that leak over the organizational issues is truly baffling.

It has become more and more clear that the issues in Vancouver stem from ownership and nowhere else, but let the mole search begin.
