Sometimes the way fans act at hockey games make you really scratch your head. There doesn't seem to be any reason for them to do certain things, but this one is extremely odd.
On Monday night, the Florida Panthers took on the Tampa Bay Lightning in the battle of Florida and to say the Panthers handled their business would be an understatement, beating the Lightning 7-1. In the middle of the game a frustrated Lightning fan chose to attack the Panthers' mascot, take a look:
There appears to be no rhyme or reason for this, other than maybe frustration. The fan jerseys the Panthers mascot before trying to put him over the railing, all while pandering to the Lightning fans in the crowd and getting some cheers back.
At first security makes no effort to step in, nor does anyone else try to stop this from happening. Only when the fan finally appears to get tired does security finally step in. The fan appears to go back to his seat as if nothing happened and there's no word on consequences to the fan as a result as of yet. Just another example of liquid courage at a hockey game.
Update: The Panthers are investigating the incident.
