Jack Campbell blames his equipment after giving up another bad goal
When things are going bad for a goalie they often go really badly. To start his tenure with the Edmonton Oilers, Jack Campbell has been absolutely awful in goal. Despite a record of 5-2-0, he has a save percentage of .881 and a goals against average of almost 4.
While wins are the only thing that ultimately matter, this success is unsustainable if Campbell can't find his game. Today against the Dallas Stars has not been the day Campbell had hoped for. Midway through the 3rd period Campbell has already given up 6 goals on 34 shots.
7 minutes into the second period Colin Miller let go a bomb of a shot from the blueline that appears to beat Campbell clean. It appears that way until you see Campbell's reaction.
Campbell immediately looks at his glove as if the puck went right through it. But after an examination Campbell doesn't switch his trapper. At this point it appears that Campbell is just searching for answers to his play.
