Jacob Trouba should face suspension for attempted elbow to the head
Jacob Trouba has been one of the biggest hitters in the league all season. It seems like a night doesn't go by when Trouba tries to step up on an opponent and usually he does it rather successfully. Last night wasn't one of those cases.
During last night's game as Ondrej Palat carried the puck towards the Ranger's blueline, Trouba stepped up. It is clear from this video that Trouba attempted to land an elbow to Palat's head. The NHL isn't in the business of suspending players for hits that didn't happen, but the intent to injure on this play is clear.
We have been stark defenders of the hits Trouba has thrown all season, but this attempted elbow was clearly intended to end Palat's night.
