The Arizona Coyotes have become the laughingstock of the league, playing in a college arena and holding onto talent long after their value has begun to drop. It recently became public that Jakob Chychrun has asked for a trade on multiple occasions, but the Coyotes have been unable to facilitate one.

It looks like Jakob Chychrun is the victim of Bill Armstrong's ridiculous ask. Now despite not having any trade protection in his contract it now appears like Chychrun has informed his team where he'd prefer to be traded.

NHL Insider Nick Kypreos was on the Tim & Friends show and shared the following information:

Apparently Jakob Chychrun is very interested in playing for the Leafs. The biggest reason, to play with Auston Matthews.

That seems like it'd be a great idea for Chychrun, who'd get to shore up the badly beaten-up blueline. However, it doesn't seem like it was currently meant to be, as today Kyle Dubas moved 6'9 Center, Curtis Douglas, an AHLer for Connor Timmins.

Elliotte Friedman cited sources telling him the Maple Leafs were interested in Conor Timmins. The 24-year-old Arizona Coyotes defenseman played with Leaf's blueliner Rasmus Sandin with the OHL's Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in 2017-18.

It looks like Chychrun will be stuck in Arizona's purgatory for a little while longer, while Bill Armstrong continues to hold out for top dollar. Unfortunately for Armstrong every injury and day that passes Chychrun's value drops to all teams interested in his services.
