Jakob Chychrun trade talk intensifying ahead of the NHL Draft
The Arizona Coyotes are on the lowest part of the totem pole in the National Hockey League when it comes to talent, although, they are sitting on a few hidden gems, without the undying love, support and admiration of NHL commissionaire Gary Bettman, they would've moved out of the Dessert long ago.
After an abysmal 2021-22 campaign (what's new in Yotes land?) it seems there's only one thing left to do... re-build yet again, and from the sounds of it, that's exactly what they plan on doing. Jakob Chychrun has been the subject of trade rumours all year, it appears he may finally soon be free of the Coyotes.
According to David Pagnotta of the NHL Network the Arizona Coyotes are expected to pursue a trade involving their star defencemen more aggressively as the off-season unfolds.
Chychrun, 24, is certainly an interesting piece on the trade market, he's young, has term left on his deal and is coming off what many would consider a down year. in just 47 games played the offensive-defenceman had 7 goals and 14 assists for 21 points.
The question is: what is Arizona's asking price going to be for the young star defenceman? if the going rate for young productive plays started with 1 or 2 first round picks at this years trade deadline? Which team would be willing to pay and what if anything more would they have to give up?
