Jamie Benn fined for sticking Andrew Mangipane in the face through the net
Today the NHL Department of Player Safety announced that they had fined Jamie Benn for a high sticking player from Saturday's game.
Dallas' Jamie Benn has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for High-sticking Calgary's Andrew Mangiapane. The fine for this penalty was following game 3, in which Ryan Suter had shoved Andrew Mangiapane in the Stars netting. Benn, the troll saw that Mangiapane was pressed into the net and poked him a few times with his stick.
George Parros and Toronto, certainly don't have the favor of fans and they seem to always be inconsistent with rulings and different players. This situation is something the league likely hasn't seen before, but is a dirty play the league would like to remove.
