When the Seattle Kraken took on the Colorado Avalanche last night by all accounts the game wasn't expected to be very exciting. However, along with a surprise 3-2 victory for the Kraken, there happened to a heavyweight scrap just as the first period was winding down.
With 5:51 remaining in the first, noted tough guys Jamie Oleksiak and Kurtis MacDermid decided to have a go around centre ice, take a look:
What started as a pretty even tilt, quickly turned in MacDermids favour when he was able to get Oleksiaks bucket off. One that happened the punches started flying.
Whatever way you look at fighting, it adds an element of excitement to the game and even if it might be going by the wayside in todays game, there's still a time and place for it in the game of hockey today.
