The season has yet to start and already John Klingberg is once again making some noise around the league. According to Hockey Insider Rob Ellis, it seems that the Anaheim Ducks will be trading Klingberg before trade deadline passes.
This summer Klingberg was forced to accept a 1 year deal with the Ducks after his agent cost him nearly $55,000,000 through failed contact negotiations. Klingberg was originally drafted by the Dallas Stars and spent the last 8 years with them before signing with the Anaheim Ducks this offseason.
According to sources the Edmonton Oilers tried to convince the Montreal Canadiens to sign Klingberg this summer. The Oilers then wanted to send an asset to the Canadiens for retaining salary in exchange for an asset. Klingberg will certainly be looking to cash in this summer after failing to this year.
