In August a report surfaced that 5 NHL players were on the verge of facing a lengthy suspension for their involvement in the Hockey Canada scandal. The report, which was first brought forward by Andy Strickland, was the first anyone had heard about this possible punishment from the investigation. However, since that report no additional information has surfaced.
Over the last 24-hours multiple NHL players connected to the investigation have started to make their social media accounts private. While not an admission of any sort of guilt, the court of public opinion has already deemed them guilty.
Unlike the general public, Katie Strang from The Athletic reached out to London Police for an update on the investigation. As rumors swirl that information could leak as early as today, that appears to not be the case.
