MHL player receives suspension for hit from behind that fractured Penguin's prospect's neck
Yesterday Kirill Tankov suffered a fractured neck after receiving a hit from Artyom Maltsev. The hit sent Tankov crashing neck first into the boards and motionless on the ice. Tankov was loaded onto a stretcher and immediately taken to hospital where he was diagnosed with a fractured neck.
It was immediately expected Maltsev would be suspended and today it was announced that the VHL has suspended him for the hit.
The player who hit and injured #LetsGoPens prospect Kirill Tankov, Dynamo St. Petersburg player Artyom Maltsev, has been suspended 3 games for the hit
Tankov is expected to miss the rest of this season and potentially longer. Hopefully Tankov is able to make a full recovery from this terrible injury.
