Major update on Marc-Andre Fleury's future
It appears as though three time Stanley Cup winning goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury will be looking for a new team again this summer. It is expected that there is very little chance Fleury will be returning to Minnesota.
Things ended in a sour note for Fleury and the Wild. They were eliminated by the St. Louis Blues in six games in the first round of the playoffs. Fleury started in five of the six games giving up at least four goals in three of them. He finished the playoffs with a 3.04 GAA and .906 Save %
The Wild also have the challenge of a very tricky cap situation to navigate. With the dead cap hits of both Ryan Sutter and Zach Parise the team will be forced to operate $12,743,588 below the salary cap ceiling.
Many believed that Fleury would look to return to where it all began in Pittsburgh, but that dream appears to be dead.
With Fleury already sharing he wants to have one more chance at a Cup, his list of possible suitors could be dwindling. It will be very interesting to see where Fleury heads next given he likely has multiple teams already off his list.
