Evander Kane comments on Nazem Kadri hit, shows zero accountability
Last night when Evander Kane hit Nazem Kadri, it may have marked the end of both of their series. Kadri was spotted leaving the arena with his arm in a cast, while Kane is set to have a hearing today for the hit. The expectation is that Kane will receive a suspension, but with the Oilers trailing the series 3-0, a single loss would mark the end of his season.
After the game Kane was asked about his hit and his answer showed anything but remorse.
I was just coming in on the backcheck. Puck went wide, kind of dribbled into the corner. I know he likes to reverse it. I was just trying to get up on him, that's really all I did. Unfortunately he went into the boards awkwardly and hurt his hand.
It's clear on the play that Kane shoves Kadri aggressively into the boards on the play which causes the injury. It will be interesting to see how NHL Department of Player Safety views the hit and if they believe Kane's defense.
