Max Pacioretty's injury is the worse case scenario
Max Pacioretty was acquired by the Carolina Hurricanes over the summer from the Vegas Golden Knights. But after only 5 games his season is over. After returning on January 5th, the Hurricanes had high hopes of Pacioretty and he delivered.
Pacioretty scored 3 goals in his first 5 games for the Canes. Unfortunately that's all the Hurricanes will get out of Patches this season. In the final minutes of last night's game, Patches suffered a non-contact injury. He fell to the ice and immediately begun clutching his Achilles.
It was clear that Pacioretty was in significant pain as he was unable to put any weight on his leg. He was helped to the bench and then carried to the locker room. Today Pacioretty underwent an MRI and the worst was confirmed.
MRI confirms Max Pacioretty tore his right Achilles tendon, two weeks after returning to action after suffering the same injury in August.
Just a brutal turn of events.
This marks the worst news possible for Pacioretty, who injured the same Achilles over the summer. Today begins the long road back from this significant injury, once again.
