Mika Zibanejad freezes Andrei Vasilevskiy for an early goal of the year candidate (Video)
The NHL season is only three games old and we already have a candidate for the goal of the season. With the Lightning on the powerplay, the Rangers pick up the puck before sending it up to Mika Zibanejad. Zibanejad comes into the Lightning zone and makes an incredible move.
What makes this goal that much more incredible is that Zibanejad freezes Andrei Vasilevskiy. Vasilevskiy is such an elite level goaltender and usually handles one on one situations with poise and ease.
The Zibanejad goal gave the Rangers a 1-0 lead, but after 2 periods the game is currently tied at 1 heading into the 3rd period.
