Mike Babcock comments on how he was treated after he was fired by the Toronto Maple Leafs
When an NHL team fires a Head Coach that's usually the last anyone hears of the situation. However when the Toronto Maple Leafs made the decision to fire Mike Babcock that was just the beginning of the discourse.
After Babcock was fired numerous times stories began to leak out of Toronto. Stories about his lack of respect for Kyle Dubas and his mistreatment of players. Specifically news leaked of Babcock's treatment of Mitch Marner.
Since being fired Babcock has remained silent about everything. That was until now. Today Babcock is the new Head Coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets and he sat down for his first interview since being hired.
During the interview Babcock spoke about how he felt after being let go.
Babcock, now 60, has been away from the league for 3.5 years now and he is excited about his fresh start with this brand new team. If Babcock can find a different at to unlock potential for the Blue Jackets, they could take a very big jump forward.
