Mitch Marner implies one of his teammates season could be over
Earlier today the Toronto Maple Leafs announced that Jake Muzzin had been placed on injured reserve due to an injury he'd suffered Monday night. The injury occurred in the second period after Muzzin collided with Clayton Keller. During today's media availability Mitch Marner commented on Muzzin's injury.
Marner's comments have created a bit of a stir after some of his phrasing seems to imply that Muzzin's season could be over. Earlier this week Marner shared how close he was with Muzzin refering to him as both his best friend and his brother.
Obviously for him it's just making sure that, if he does come back and play this year, or whatever happens, just make sure that he's going to be able to do whatever he wants to do the rest of his life and enjoy the time with his family, his kids.
These comments appear to show a significant concern outside of the ordinary for a friend and teammate. Hopefully the Maple Leafs medical staff and management can do everything in their power to help protect Jake Muzzin.
