Mouthy Toronto Maple Leafs fan nearly starts brawl at MSG after Leafs' victory
The Toronto Maple Leafs and their fans are one of the best traveling fan bases in the National Hockey League. Fans often follow the team around to other cities, because in many cases it's cheaper to fly to a destination and view a Leafs game, versus paying the price in Toronto. With the large traveling contingent sometimes comes the overly obnoxious fan, that Toronto has come to be known for.
On Tuesday night the Maple Leafs played one of their best games of the season, much to the dismay of the home New York crowd. As the final horn went off, on Maple Leafs fan chose to take things a little too far as he began to taunt Rangers fans. In typical New Yorker fashion, some fans began to grow angry and things nearly escalated.
Ultimately, thanks to security and the level of heads of some individuals involved, the Leafs fan left the arena unscathed. Talking trash to a Rangers fan has serious health risks, as one Tampa Bay Lightning fan learned just last year.
