Just before the start of the season the National Hockey League announced that they were getting rid of the stationary board advertisements in favour of electronic boards advertisements so they could make a little more money.
There was obviously some mixed reaction among fans and it didn't take long for the new way of advertising to make the NHL look silly.
Last night during the Edmonton Oilers versus Vancouver Canucks game, the boards started glitching mid play, proving to be more of a distraction.
This is another example of granger sold by Gary Bettman that would help generate more revenue and maybe along the line help increase the salary cap.
At this point, one must ask what's next? Bettman runs a billion dollar industry and yet, he sounds like a twenty-something year old selling his parents and friends on the next get rich quick scheme. It's old and tired, just like him.
The game has passed him by long ago, all that's happening now is the on-ice product continues to diminish
