NHL changes start time for Sunday night game after winter storm
The NHL has pushed back the start time for tonight's Maple Leafs vs Red Wings game, due to a hectic winter storm.
It's been a wild weekend of weather in Southern Ontario featuring heavy snow, rain, wind and on the other side of the border, it even forced an NFL game to be moved to Monday afternoon.
Tonight, the Toronto Maple Leafs are hosting the Detroit Red Wings at Scotiabank Arena and it appears that weather has forced a slight change to the start time.
According to TSN's Chris Johnston, tonight's Maple Leafs vs Red Wings game has been pushed back to 7:30 p.m. ET after it was originally scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Johnston says that the weather has affected Detroit's travel plans.
"Tonight's Leafs-Red Wings game has been pushed back to 7:30 p.m. -- it sounds like the winter storm affected Detroit's travel plans."
This will be the second of three meetings between Toronto and Detroit this season. Back in November, the Maple Leafs took the first game by a score of 3-2.
