NHL could be forced to cancel Saturday night game
The NHL is currently monitoring the situation in Buffalo very closely as the city braces for one of the worst snow events in years. The Sabres are scheduled to face off against the Toronto Maple Leafs Saturday night in Toronto. But that could be in jeopardy as the Sabres are still currently in Buffalo and the city is expected to receive upwards of six feet of snow in a 24-hour period.
The Buffalo Bills and NFL opted to move their Sunday game against the Cleveland Browns from Buffalo to Detroit. According to David Alter shared the following information:
As of last night, #Leafs said they weren't made aware of any changes/contingencies if the #Sabres can't make it. Their plans are the same. It's obviously in Buffalo's court to make it here.
Both the Leafs and Sabres teams practiced this morning, but a State of Emergency has been declared in parts of Buffalo and could make travel impossible for the team. The Buffalo Bills shared the following photos to show how much snow the area has already received.
