The New Jersey Devils are only two games into the season and already the fans are ready for head coach Lindy Ruff to be fired. New Jersey has scored just four goals while giving up ten in two games. What is even more troubling is who they lost to. Their first game they lost 5-2 to Philadelphia. Last night's home opener against Detroit yielded the same score. The teams they lost to aren't exactly cup contenders this year.

New Jersey has accumulated top picks and talent over the years. They already have Jack Hughes, Nico Heischer, Jesper Bratt, and Dawson Mercer. They added some experience by signing Ondrej Palat who is minus five over two games. It is time for the club to start trending in upwards direction.

The season is very early, but head coach Lindy Ruff's time in New Jersey could be limited if he doesn't get things turned around quickly. This is a team that should at least be in the playoff hunt. Getting off to a bad start early in the year can be very difficult to erase.

After last nights disappointing evening against Detroit, fans are making it clear that Ruff needs to go. Perhaps a new voice in the locker room will get the players attention. Two games into the season seems early to fire your head coach, however Lindy Ruff has to feel under fire. This is Ruff's third consecutive year coaching New Jersey. Will it be his last? Definitely a situation to pay attention to. New Jersey host the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday night.
