New Jersey Devils captain leaves the game due to strange reason
The preseason is already in full swing. Teams are testing out different lineups, different linemates and different defensive combinations. This part of the season is more crucial from some players than others.
Tonight the New Jersey Devils kicked off their preseason schedule against the Montreal Canadiens. After playing 6:24 in the 1st period, Hischier was nowhere to be seen on the Devils bench to start the second period. The Devils quickly announced the following:
Nico Hischier will not return to tonight's game due to cramping. The medical staff will work on him but are keeping him out as a precaution. While other sports are notorious for cramps it's a very rare occurrence in the NHL. Given that this is the preseason it's likely the Devils aren't going to take any chances here.
