The New York Rangers have nothing to be ashamed of after their effort this season. Losing to the 2-time defending Stanley Cup Champions in 6 games is an accomplishment, especially because no one thought they'd do that this season.

Now, it appears the Rangers are doing all they can to find trade partners for both forward Julien Gauthier and goaltender Alexandar Georgiev according to Arthur Staple of The Athletic. New York is willing to take anything back for Gauthier to get him out of town it seems, but for Georgiev they'll be a little more selective.

Gauthier, 24, hasn't been what the Rangers have hoped for since acquiring him from Carolina in 2020. In 49 games last season, the former first-round pick had 3 goals and 4 assists for a total of just 7 points. He seems to have fallen out of favour in the big Apple.

Georgiev on the other hand is 26 and has been at least serviceable for the most part during his career with the Rangers, however it look like they believe a change of scenery would do him some good in an attempt to find his form. In 33 games this last season, Georgiev had a record of 15-10-2 with 2 shutouts, a 2.92 goals against average and a .898 save percentage.

The Rangers look to be rather active in finding both players different places to play for the upcoming season, albeit, for vastly different reasons.
