Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic, reported Florida Panthers forward Anthony Duclair, 26, suffered an Achilles tendon injury during offseason training, which might require surgery and would require months of recovery. The official timetable will depend on the surgery and is not yet known.

Duclair set career highs in goals with 31 and points with 58 this past season. He was one of the most efficient scorers in the NHL, posting those numbers despite averaging just 15 minutes of ice time per game.

After bouncing around several NHL teams due to inconsistent seasons. Duclair has found a home in Florida, after they took at chance on him with a one-year, $1.7-million deal for the 2020-21 season. After he flourished, they rewarded him with a three-year extension starting in 2021-22. Duclair has been a force as a top-six forward in the potent Florida lineup, averaging 29 goals and 63 points per 82 games in his two seasons with the team

Signed through the 2023-24 season at a cap hit of $3 million, Duclair has 120 goals and 252 points in 470 games with the New York Rangers, Arizona Coyotes, Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Ottawa Senators and Panthers.
