The Florida Panthers and Sergei Bobrovsky have had a tumultuous relationship since they signed him to a 7-year 70 million dollar contract on July 1st of 2019. He hasn't performed well through most of his tenure in a Panther uniform. So much so, that Flordia is shopping the goaltender.

According to Nick Kypreos of Sportsnet, the Florida Panthers are exploring the trade market and are willing to retain up to fifty percent of Bobrovsky's salary for the remainder of his contract, although, they would like to retain less if possible.

Bobrovsky, 33, who at one time was a top goalie in the league and perennial Vezina contender has been a shell of himself in large part since joining Florida.

Last season was one of Bobrovsky's best in a Panther uniform. In 54 games last season, Bob went 39-7-3 with three shutouts, a .913 save percentage and a 2.67 goals-against average.

This might be a case of the Panthers wanting to trade an aging goaltender on a higher note. at 50 percent retained it's evident he has fallen out of favour in the Sunshine state
