Mental health is at the forefront of society these days, as it should be. With that being said, people are starting to recognize the good of investing in certain mental health initiatives. After all, it is something that every person has to deal with on one way or the other, whether you play in the National Hockey League or not.
Yesterday, it was announced that Columbus Blue Jackets star Patrik Laine is donating 1,000 dollars for every point he scores to men's mental health and the Ohio Health Foundation; take a look.
Laine, 25, has appeared in 3 games so far this season collecting a total of 2 points, including 1 goal and 1 assist.
Whatever your thoughts on Laine are as a player, donating 1K for ever point he score is extremely generous and sometimes reminds people that who they are on and off the ice are vastly different.
Being charitable with your money is one thing, but supporting mental health as your cause, especially in the hockey world is something that is fantastic to see.
