Penguins fans taunt Igor Shesterkin with a chant after he gives up his 4th goal of the game
After the 1st period the New York Rangers and Pittsburgh Penguins were tied at 1's. The game appeared to be a hotly contested matchup, but that quickly changed. Approximately 3 minutes into the 2nd period Mike Matheson scored his 1st of the playoffs.
24 seconds later Jake Guentzel scored his 5th and then 8 minutes last Mark Friedman added his 1st as well. That's when Penguins' fans took it upon themselves to serenade Shesterkin with a mocking chant. The entire crowd began to chant in unison:
While sometimes a chant like this can motivate a goalie to dial in their play that wasn't the case for Shesterkin. Shesterkin would allow 2 more goals before the end of the period bringing his period total to 5.
The Rangers trail the game 6-2 entering the 3rd.
