Player scores absolutely insane spinning goal - Goal of the Year Candidate
There are usually only a few times per year when you watch a goal and immediately your jaw drops. This is definitely one of those occasions though. This goal happens on what appears to be a harmless play.
Alexander Mirzabalayev picks up the puck inside the attacking zone, and it appears that the defender is in good position. That's is until Mirzabalayev tips the puck to the inside and make a great move to get to the inside. He picks the puck back up and dekes past the bewildered goalie for an absolutely gorgeous goal.
The 20-year-old Mirzabalayev is an undrafted forward playing in the NHL. If he continues to score goals like this it's only a matter of time before a team comes calling.
