Player two-hand slashes opponent in the neck and his response is incredible
A Russian hockey league is drawing additional criticism after another stick swinging infraction. Just days after a player slashed a referee in the head, before kicking him with his skate, the league is now facing another stick infraction.
This incident occured on Tuesday during the second period of a game. As a failed icing leads to a trip, the player gets up and is unhappy that no penalty is initially called. The player who was initially tripped gets up and trips the opposing player. That's when the referee's arm finally went up.
The two players come together and a cross check is exchanged. That's when the player in blue lifts his stick and two hand slashes the opposing player in the neck. The most surprising thing in this entire video is that the player in white just eats the blow without much of a reaction at all.
The player in blue was assessed a 5 minute major for high sticking on the play and was tossed from the game.
