Politician makes ridiculous suggestion that would change hockey forever
Politicians always try and stick their hands into places where they often don't belong. They often make suggestions without any supporting information and even attempt to alter the trajectory of major sports.
Recently a politician in Quebec tried to remove fighting from all levels of hockey, including Major Junior leagues. Going as far as threatening to remove funding or licensing if steps weren't taken to remove fights from the game. That political power grab is still underway.
But that idea, as bad as it was, isn't anywhere near as bad as this idea shared by New Democratic Party Member of Parliament, Bonita Zarrillo. Early this week Zarrillo took to here Twitter account to share this not so brilliant idea, that she's since deleted.
ls indoor skating ice even a
necessity anymore? Can every ice
sport be done without ice and
different equipment?...just
pondering the climate impact of
human-made indoor ice.
It didn't take long for Twitter to do there thing and Bonita opted to delete her tweet instead of taking her deserved punishment. But like most politicians Bonita found out there was already a solution to the imaginary problem she created.
Let's just enjoy our paper straws.
