Steven Stamkos showed why he has been the captain of the Tampa Bay Lightning since 2014. On Saturday night in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final, Stamkos lead his team to a third consecutive Prince of Wales Trophy, scoring both of the teams goals. Stamkos opened the scoring at 10:43 of the second period. He then scored the game winner in the third period just 21 seconds after the New York Rangers had tied the game. But it wasn't without controversy.

In the third period, Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov went down the ice on a two on one. Kucherov passed it to Stamkos who snapped a shot that Igor Shesterkin stopped with his glove. But Shesterkin did not have full control and bobbled the puck. As Stamkos followed through on his shot and looked for a rebound, the puck bounced off his leg and into the net. Shesterkin felt like he was possibly interfered with as Stamkos made a little bit of contact with him. So the goal went under review.

After review it was determined to be a good goal and Tampa Bay went on to win the game 2-1 and close out the series. It's great to see a healthy Steven Stamkos in the playoffs for the first time in a long time. It makes the Lightning even more dangerous than they have been the last two years.
