Report - Edmonton Oilers reportedly close to a trade for a defender
The Edmonton Oilers appear on the verge of missing the playoffs. Despite last year's Conference Finals appearance, the Oilers are currently struggling, while they hold down the last Wild Card Spot, they do so with teams behind them having games in hand. The Oilers have struggled to stop opposing teams from scoring.
Now according to Hockey 24/7 the Oilers are nearing a deal with the Montreal Canadiens to acquire Joel Edmundson and Jonathan Drouin.
A deal is close between Edmonton and Montreal. The deal would be Drouin and Edmundson to Edmonton and yes Edmundson would be playing in Edmonton. #oilers #GoHabsGo #edmundsoninedmonton
If this deal does come together it will come at a steep cost but it would greatly improve both the Oilers defense and depth. With many teams looking to get business done sooner than later this could spark a real avalanche of deals.
