Ryan Reaves is more than willing to drop the gloves with his former teammates, gives a great quote on how he'd make it work
A familiar face is returning to Madison Square Garden when the New York Rangers host the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night. Former Ranger Ryan Reaves was traded to the Wild in exchange for a 2025 fifth-round pick on November 23.
Reaves is known for his physical presence on the ice and being a great teammate.
The 35 year old played 81 regular season games for the Rangers scoring 5 goals and 13 points with 55 penalty minutes. Known as one of the true heavyweights left in the game he got into 5 fighting majors in a Rangers jersey.
Reaves was asked before the game if any of his former teammates will challenge him to a fight?
"I'd be happy to go 2 on 1, to be honest. That's what it's gonna take," said Reaves.
The Rangers know what Reaves can do with his fists. I don't envision anyone taking Reaves up on his offer.
Just ask his former goalie Igor Shesterkin who admitted as much after a game last season.
«He's a good fighter,» Shesterkin said, «I don't ever want to be in front of those hot hands.»
