Two players placed on waivers including former Vegas Golden Knights top prospect
When the Vegas Golden Knights entered the league in 2017, they ensured to use the Expansion Draft to acquire as many draft picks as possible. The Golden Knights used one of their first 5 picks to draft Jake Leschyshyn in the 2nd round, 62nd overall. Lechyshyn was a point per game center during his final year of junior hockey and the Golden Knights had high hopes for him.
Leschyshyn however, was never able to find that success in the AHL. Over the last two seasons due to injuries the Knights have given Leschyshyn an opportunity to play 63 games, and he has scored 2 goals and added 4 assists during that time. All his points came last year, in 22 games this season Jake has notched no points. With the Knights getting healthy today they announced that Lechyshyn had officially been placed on waivers.
The Buffalo Sabres also placed Casey Fitzgerald on waivers. In 23 games this season Fitzgerald has 3 assists for the Sabres.
