Scary situation in Edmonton, Nazem Kadri injured by hit from Evander Kane
Connor McDavid opened the scoring less than 40 seconds into the game by beating Pavel Francouz. Unfortunately for the Oilers shortly after that Evander Kane would take a major penalty for a dirty hit on Nazem Kadri. The play was ruled boarding by the referees, which saved Kane from being ejected.
Luckily for Kane the hit was called boarding because boarding is one of the only major penatlies that doesn't require an immediate ejection.
Nazem Kadri left the ice immediately and headed to the dressing room.
This hit will definitely be reviewed by the NHL Department of Player Safety.
