When the Vancouver Canucks and then General Manager, Jim Benning signed Tucker Poolman to a 4-year deal, they had high hopes for him. Unfortunately Poolman's first season was cut short by injury and it appears those injuries could even put the remainder of his career in question.
In his first season for the Canucks, Poolman was only able to suit up for 40 games. In his career Poolman has already had to endure shoulder surgery, a concussion, two bouts of COVID-19 and a puck to the face.
But it is ongoing issues with migraines that appear to be what could put a halt to Poolman's career. The migraines for Poolman began in Winnipeg, the season before he signed in Vancouver. But resurfaced in a game against the Vegas Knights.
After being cleared to return Poolman completed the 1st period, where he played 4 minutes and 25 seconds. Things seemed on the upswing, when during the 1st intermission the migraines struck. The bout of migraines shutdown Poolman's season and sent him back to the injury reserve.
