When you think of the Vancouver Canucks, Roberto Luongo is never far off, leading the team to the Stanley cup final in 2011 and even captaining the team for one season, he is what a model of a Canucks player should be and it sounds like he's getting his due.

According to the Vancouver Canucks Twitter account, Luongo is set to become the 8th player inducted into their ring of honour, fittingly.
The franchise leader in wins (252) and shutouts (38) will be inducted sometime next season on a date to be announced later.
I can't help but think, although the Canucks are honouring him, they're also disrespecting him to a degree. He's only the second goalie in NHL history to lead two franchises in wins. Roy was the other, his number should be retired.
One could argue, that without Luongo, the Vancouver Canucks wouldn't have gotten anywhere. To each their own, but no one should be able to wear his number with the Canucks again in my opinion.
