The Toronto Maple Leafs are never far away from controversy and disappointment throughout the past decade. They are an original 6 team full of history and winning traditions and fans simply expect the best out of their team.

It's quite normal to expect the best night in and night out when your team has been projected as a Stanley Cup contender for the past 3 years. But it seems that Toronto can't get a hold of their demons well enough to not have their fan base be ashamed of them.

Last night's game was an example of what should have been an easy win, but turned out to be a one sided game for the Arizona Coyotes. A team that is expected to tank to try and save their franchise with a shot a picking 1st overall in this year's draft. At the end of the second period, it was 2-0 for the Coyotes and the Toronto fans weren't afraid to let their team know that they were not pleased with how they were playing.

The Maple Leafs need to find their game. Having lost the season opener to the Montreal Canadiens, a team also expected not to make the playoffs this year, losing to another bottom 5 team surely has to be a turning point this early into the season. Sheldon Keefe will have his hands full and will be expected to turn this team around quickly or else it might just cost him his job.
