Toronto Maple Leafs' fans are furious over this terrible non-call that cost them the series
Last night, the Tampa Bay Lightning and Toronto Maple Leafs met in a winner take all Game 7 battle. The Maple Leafs were trying to exorcise their First Round playoff Demons, while the Lightning are attempting to threepeat. Unfortunately for the Maple Leafs, the Lightning would go on to win the game 2-1, but the game wasn't without some controversy.
Toronto Maple Leafs forward John Tavares would score what appeared to be the Maple Leafs opening goal, but it was called back on a controversial interference play by Justin Holl.Ultimately the refs determined that the play on Holl was interference, but things would continue to get controversial after Nick Paul scored the go ahead goal to make the score 2-1.
On the play Alex Killorn falls down and opens up space for Nick Paul, but many people looked at Jake Muzzin who didn't do anything to make a play on Paul. The reason why? Well Muzzin has his stick pulled out of his hands on the play, leaving him unable to make a play at all.
This would ultimately be the series winning goal. I'm personally of the belief that neither of these are penalties, but if one of them is, they both are.
Sorry Leafs' fans, better luck next year.
