A goaltenders job is to stop the puck, so when they do anything else, like get an assist or score a goal it's an added bonus, never mind the fact that if a goalie goal happens, the National Hockey League and their fans buzz for a little while.
Tonight, the Pittsburgh Penguins were facing off against the Tampa Bay Lightning when goaltender Tristan Jarry saw an opportunity late in game game wither net empty; take a look.
With 1:14 left to play in the 3rd period and the Lightning net empty, Jarry took aim and scored! Of course his teammates were elated as they mauled him in his crease to celebrate.
I don't think you could score a much better goalie goal then that and with the score 3-2 in the 3rd as well. What a way for the first goalie goal of the NHL season to happen.
