Since Dan Milstein made Nikita Zadorov's trade request public, it was like a ticking clock. Calgary Flames General Manager Craig Conroy made it clear that he only wanted player in Calgary who wanted to be there. It was clear, Zadorov's time was running out.
Today the Flames made the announcement that they'd officially trade Zadorov.
General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the #Canucks have acquired D Nikita Zadorov from the Calgary Flames in exchange for a fifth-round pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft (acquired from CHI) and a third-round pick in 2026.
This move provides additional toughness to the Canucks back end as they look to make a playoff push and the cost for Vancouver was very low, allowing them to retain their valuable assets.
