The problem is money. So, who could possibly go?
Elliotte Friedman links Andrei Kuzmenko to be the one to get the boot, as stated on his 32 Thoughts podcast.
Marek stated that he could see him going to the New York Islanders. Friedman said that he used to think that Andrei was going to go to the Nashville Predators, but now he thinks the Chicago Blackhawks. The Blackhawks had six breakaway chances during Saturday night's game, and didn't score on one of them in their 1-0 loss to the Calgary Flames. Friedman summed it up saying: «They can't score.»
Andrei Kuzmenko is 27 years old (turns 28 this week) and came into the league undrafted. Kuzmenko really hit the scene last season with his 39 goal and 74-point season. However, this year has not been the same story.
Kuzmenko hasn't had a good year. This season, he has eight goals and 13 assists, tallying up to 21 points in 43 games. Andrei was even scratched for a bit of time at the beginning of the year, but that didn't seem to fix him.
If this is a trade that they're going to pursue, Vancouver may need to add something else to the trade to make it worthwhile, as he holds a $5.5 million cap hit over the next two years.
